Consumables are where most money gets wasted, because the systems look alike and do not fit each other. This page is ordered by platform so a repeat purchase lands right first time.

The platforms and what separates them

VOOPOO runs several cartridge systems in parallel. They resemble each other closely enough to be confused and they are not mechanically interchangeable. The model name tells you little here: devices on different platforms sit side by side within the same range.

PnP X is the later generation with a wider airway, built for a more open draw. Despite the name it is not interchangeable with original PnP, and that is the most common mistake on a repeat purchase. We stock 1 unit on this platform.

The only reliable move is to read your own device's spec table. The cartridge type is stated there in plain text, and on every device page here the matching units are linked directly.

Cartridge, pod and coil are not the same thing

Three words the trade mixes up constantly, which is exactly why searching for the right part turns into a lottery. A cartridge, or pod, is the tank plus the mouthpiece. A coil is the heating element inside it. On some systems the coil is fixed and the whole cartridge is replaced; on others it pulls out separately.

It is a cost question. Where the coil is built in you throw away the tank at every change, but the swap takes ten seconds. Where it comes out separately it works out cheaper over time and is slightly more fiddly. Which type a unit is, is stated on its product page.

Which resistance for which liquid

Resistance drives the result more than any setting on the device. Above 1.0 Ω is a tight draw, low consumption and modest power around ten to fifteen watts, which is nicotine salt territory. Between 0.6 and 1.0 Ω is the crossover: a little more vapour, more flavour, fifteen to twenty-five watts.

Below 0.5 Ω direct-to-lung begins. That needs thirty watts and up and a low-strength liquid, because the much larger vapour volume becomes unbearable quickly at high strength. Strong salt on a low resistance is one of the most common beginner mistakes.

Every unit has its recommended wattage range printed on it. Exceeding it does not improve flavour; it burns the cotton faster and ends in a scorched draw that will not rinse out.

How long a unit lasts

One to three weeks mouth-to-lung, often only a few days direct-to-lung, because far more liquid runs through it. There is no fixed figure, because the liquid decides more than the device does. Sweet, high-sugar flavourings and heavily coloured blends clog cotton quickly; clean tobacco and menthol are gentler.

The end comes in three stages: flavour goes flat, then turns slightly bitter, then scorched. Past the bitter point neither rinsing nor drying will bring it back.

The most common cause of a unit dying early is firing it too soon. After filling, wait five minutes for the cotton to soak. Fire it straight away and you scorch it, and the taste stays until you replace it.

Every unit here holds 2 ml

We stock the European edition of the range, whose refillable tank is capped at 2 ml. It is the same revision of the device for every market we ship to, so the warehouse and the spare parts are shared rather than split by country. International listings for the same unit sometimes quote larger figures because they describe a different edition; the figure in our spec table is the one that ships.

It makes no difference to flavour or to how long a coil lasts. You simply refill more often.
