Vmate is the MTL range

Vmate is the most consistent family in the line-up, because it does one thing: a tight mouth-to-lung draw. 1 models are available, with batteries from 1000 to 1000 mAh and power up to 30 W. The low ceiling is design rather than economy. Past 30 W an MTL coil has nothing left to give.

Anyone coming off cigarettes and looking for hardware that feels similar is served most directly by Vmate. The same goes for anyone who, after years on large devices, wants to go back to a tight draw.

The models relative to each other

Within Vmate the spread is narrower than in any other range, and that follows from the design. The models differ mainly in bulk and battery capacity, while the feel of the draw stays common, because the airway and the resistance band are held consistent.

In practice that means you choose here on size and on whether there is a button, not on specifications. The draw-activated versions are closest to a smoker's habit; the button versions fire more reliably on a very soft pull and let you preheat the coil briefly.

Why a tight draw and salts belong together

A tight draw means little air, little vapour and low power. For that to satisfy anyway you need more nicotine per millilitre, and for the higher dose not to scratch you need nicotine salts. Salt stays smooth even at twenty milligrams; freebase does not.

That is why Vmate devices are almost always run on salt liquids. Fill one with strong freebase and you get an unpleasant draw and blame the hardware unfairly.

What Vmate cannot do

It does not make much vapour, and that is a boundary of the genre rather than a fault. If you want a dense exhale you want another range and another liquid. Vmate solves the opposite problem: staying discreet, quiet and close to the feel of a cigarette.

Which model for which use

Anyone coming off cigarettes should be looking at a tight draw and a higher coil resistance, not at peak wattage. Anyone already vaping and after a second device gains most from a model on the same cartridge platform as the first, because then the consumable stock is shared.

If you need to get through a day without a cable, look at the top half of the list. If you want to carry it discreetly in a shirt pocket, look at the bottom half, because battery capacity and bulk are directly linked.

The third question, the one asked least often, is how much you want to adjust. A device with no screen and no wattage control cannot be set wrongly, and for someone quitting smoking that is a feature rather than a gap. An adjustable device only earns its keep if you will genuinely match power to liquid instead of leaving the factory value forever.

Cartridges: where the money goes

Several cartridge systems run inside this range, and which one a given device takes is stated in its spec table.

The model name says nothing about the platform. Devices on different systems sit next to each other inside one range, and PnP and PnP X are not mechanically interchangeable whatever the name suggests. Order the wrong unit and, once the seal is broken, it cannot be returned on hygiene grounds.

The only reliable move is to read the spec table of the specific device. The cartridge type is stated there in plain text, and on every model page the matching units are linked.

What applies to every device in the range

Charging is over USB-C. The cartridge is held magnetically and pushes in rather than screwing in. Every cartridge that ships with a device holds 2 ml, because we stock the European edition of the range. International listings for the same models sometimes quote other figures; the value on the product page is the one that ships.

Colour choice varies considerably between models. Each model page lists the finishes actually available, each with a photo of the real unit rather than a recoloured stock image. Matte surfaces show finger marks far later than gloss, and for a device carried in a pocket every day that matters more than the colour itself.

Coil life across the range is set by the liquid rather than the device: one to three weeks mouth-to-lung and noticeably less direct-to-lung. Sweet and heavily coloured flavourings clog cotton faster than clean tobacco or menthol.
