VOOPOO Vinci Spark 220 is built for direct-to-lung. The vapour volume is far higher than MTL, and with it go liquid consumption and battery drain.

The 5 to 220 W range is set up for that. The 0.05 to 3 Ω resistance band shows which coils are in play: it wants low resistances below 0.5 Ω and a low-strength liquid, because at this vapour volume a high strength becomes unbearable quickly.

Strong nicotine salts are firmly wrong for this device. Pairing a large vapour volume with twenty milligrams of salt is the second most common beginner mistake.

Why this one takes a cell

VOOPOO Vinci Spark 220 takes a 18650 cell, bought separately. The reason is logistics: as dangerous goods it cannot travel in the same parcel.

The payoff shows in daily use: with a charged spare in your pocket the device is back in service in half a minute instead of sitting on a cable for an hour.

You do have to watch the cells: intact wrap, transport only in a case, and with two cells the same type and the same charge level. Loose in a pocket a cell has no business being, because coins and keys bridge the terminals.

Cartridges and coils for this model

VOOPOO Vinci Spark 220 runs on the PnP X platform. PnP X 0.15Ω + PnP X 0.3Ω are included. That is the detail that decides a repeat purchase, not the model name.

VOOPOO runs several cartridge systems in parallel and they look alike enough to be confused. PnP X and PnP are not mechanically interchangeable, whatever the name suggests. Once the seal is broken a return is out on hygiene grounds.

A coil lasts one to three weeks depending on the liquid. Sweet and heavily coloured flavours clog the cotton faster than clean tobacco or menthol. When the taste first goes flat and then turns bitter, the coil is finished and rinsing will not save it.

How it handles

The display shows wattage, resistance and charge. That is the difference between guessing and knowing: without a readout a worn coil is only detectable by taste, with one the rising resistance shows earlier.

The material used, Aluminum Alloy, Zinc-Alloy, drives how the device looks after a year of carrying.

Size, weight and everyday practicality

It measures 95.0 × 45 × 29 mm. This is a jacket-pocket or bag device rather than a shirt-pocket one. If you want to carry it discreetly, look at a compact model.

These two figures decide more in daily use than they are given credit for. Too large and it stays on the desk, too small and it is on the cable by midday, and either way you find out after a week rather than at unboxing.

What you get in the box

Included are PnP X 0.15Ω + PnP X 0.3Ω plus a USB-C cable. There is no mains adapter, as with most manufacturers; any phone charger will do.

What is not included is liquid. That is what local shops are for, and the choice depends on the resistance you run: higher resistance and a tight draw want nicotine salts, low resistance and an open draw need low-strength freebase.

The consumable side adds cartridges and coils: VOOPOO UFORCE-X Tank II (PnP X). It is worth taking a small stock straight away, because a spent coil tends to announce itself exactly when there is no spare in the house.

The serial number on the box can be verified at voopoo.com. A device that cannot be confirmed is better returned than used.

Compared with its siblings

Within one range the devices sit closer together than the names suggest. What separates them is usually the battery and the wattage ceiling, less often the feel of the draw.

The gap between matte and gloss is a maintenance gap. Matte forgives a pocket, gloss shows every print.

Gradient finishes change with the light, because the tone at the base does not match the tone at the top edge.

The photos show the real finish. For surfaces that shift in the light that is the only honest way to do it.

Who should buy it

The buyer here is experienced: open draw, low resistance and a deliberate liquid choice. To someone quitting smoking right now this build feels like breathing through a pipe.

For a quiet day the charge is enough; under heavy use the cable comes out toward evening, which is normal for this class.
